Lavalier Alves is currently the controller for Berkshire Development. He is been there since May of 2000. Berkshire Development, LLC is a national real estate development company. He is a native New Englander and resides in Wilbraham, MA. Lavalier Alves acknowledges being a diehard Patriots and Red Sox fan. Prior to joining Berkshire, Mr. Alves was Finance Manager for Big Y Foods, Inc., a regional grocery store chain headquartered in Springfield, MA.
He graduated with honors from Northeastern University majoring in Accounting. Mr. Alves went on to complete his Professional Masters in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In addition to his strong educational background Lavalier Alves is also a CFM (Certified in Financial Management) as well as a CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
Mr. Lavalier Alves maintains a busy life outside of work. He has two active young boys that keep him on his toes. Lavalier Alves also finds time to play in a regular tennis league as well.
In addition to his family, Lavalier Alves is also a contributor to local charitable organizations and tries to make time to volunteer as well. Professionally, Lavalier B. Alves is also a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and also a board member of The Oscar Hillel Plotkin Family Foundation.
If he could name some destinations where he would like to visit someday, Lavalier Alves mentions Brazil or Italy. That will come in handy since he speaks Portuguese as well as Spanish.
